When Art, Identity, and Technology Collide
Each leather bag in this series carries more than personal belongings—it carries an idea, a question, and often, a provocation. This collection builds on the conceptual foundation of my 2023 fashion show, Fantasy Paraphrase, where every garment was paired with an AI-generated image. Today, that visual language continues—this time through leather and canvas.
The images adorning each bag are unique. They are printed directly onto the leather or transferred onto fine canvas panels and then carefully sewn into the bags’ construction. Some designs interpret fashion silhouettes through the styles of iconic painters—Picasso’s fragmented geometry, Kahlo’s intimate surrealism, Lichtenstein’s bold pop energy. Others imagine future scenarios: wild animals on the runway, dreamlike skies, or a re-envisioned Wonder Woman floating above Manhattan in a draped evening gown. These visuals are not meant to match the bags—they are meant to expand them, like an idea unfolding.
Reimagining Icons and Futures
The figures depicted in these works are not passive muses; they are complex characters drawn from history, fantasy, and future imaginings. A recurring presence is Wonder Woman—no longer clad in a traditional costume but reinterpreted in tailored elegance, standing atop the world stage. She appears in unexpected environments, not to entertain, but to disrupt. She provokes a different kind of gaze—one that acknowledges strength, grace, and ambiguity in equal measure.
Some bags depict surreal fashion worlds of the 22nd century. Others revisit the past through the lens of modern technology. In this visual remix, AI is not a cold machine but a creative collaborator—mirroring, distorting, and reshaping our human obsessions with beauty, identity, and spectacle.
A Dialogue Between Power and Femininity
At the heart of my work lies a constant questioning of how femininity is portrayed, performed, and politicized. These bags, like my garments, are part of that inquiry. They do not attempt to define what it means to be a woman. Instead, they hold space for contradiction—for softness and power, playfulness and protest, elegance and irony.
By embedding AI-generated artworks into handmade fashion accessories, I aim to blur the line between art object and wearable design. Each piece is made to be touched, carried, lived with—and yet, it invites you to pause and reflect. What are we carrying, really? And what are we trying to say?
